Skyline Design-Suzanne Tick

The work that I'm doing is all about sustainability, and glass fits right into that.

Suzanne Tick is the founder of Suzanne Tick Inc., specializing in materials brand strategy, product design, development, and direction for commercial interiors. She has maintained a distinguished career as a textile designer and studio Principal in New York City.

My collections were created for Skyline Design as a way to soften the glass as if it were a textile.

Suzanne has been a design partner with Skyline Design since 2008 and is responsible for some of the company’s best-selling collections. Suzanne also maintains a hand weaving practice and creates woven sculptures from repurposed materials. Her work is exhibited worldwide and collected by private and corporate clients. Suzanne was also honored in 2013 with the IIDA Titan Award, given in recognition of significant contributions to the Interior Design profession.

These collections don’t dictate one answer. They offer a kit of parts allowing designers to explore and make beautiful design decisions.

Glass Collections by Suzanne Tick:

Afterglow Glassboards
Afterglow™ is inspired by the natural phenomenon of atmospheric inversion and quiet, dappled light shadows seen through panes of glass and contemporary glassware. The collection of glassboards feature a bold accent stripe on a smooth, writable, glass surface.

Collection in Whites
Collection in Whites™ references the softness of textiles against the hard, translucent surface of glass. Using single- and double-layer etching combined with digital printing creates a luminous, tactile experience.

Organize
Organize™ offers a solution for structuring information on markerglass. Patterns on the glass create a versatile organizational tool for presentations and meetings.

Transcend
Transcend™ responds to changes in how we use and experience space. The collection seamlessly transitions from one spatial function to the next: from interior to exterior, public to private, or open to quiet areas.

Obscura PVC-Free Film
Obscura uses PVC-free architectural film to create privacy in incremental dimensions, providing minimal and specific coverage. This applied film system also satisfies building codes that increasingly require glass with markings, particularly in corporate and healthcare environments.
